This term my class and I have been working on a place or a country we called it Culture Club. Culture Club is when we have a country that we are reporting on. I chose England because I wanted to learn more about The Queen, Big Ben, the traditions. Last Friday my class and I had to bring in our traditional dishes and wear our traditional clothing and share our presentation with classmates and family. I bought in apple pie and custard it tasted delicious there was no more apple pie at the end of the feast, that means it was delicious... Yes! I am going to dress up as a fancy dress person going to meet the Queen. I chose dress up as this because England does not have a traditional clothing. I was proud of my presentation and didn't want to change anything about my presentation.

We use a website called timetable.co.nz it helps
us learn our times table with tests and games.
This week I nailed my 3s to be ingested they
were not that hard. There are four texts
and a diploma. A diploma is a final test
to make sure
that you are ready
to get tested by the teacher.

Venomous sea krait found in Tauranga

Hi me again,

For this term we have a new word work called Kiwi Kids News. I choose a article on Venomous Sea Krait. It swum from India to Tauranga in New Zealand. The Krait is related to the King Cobra.
It did not hurt anyone they are endangered and in very rare to see this type of Snake in this sort of conditions it is sometime found up North. People first saw it a in the water from their boats in the harbour. It can be found in Tropical places.

Hi me again,
This is my poem from L3 writing.
 Mine was about a day at the beach with my family.
How we made it: 
1.First we looked at some of James K Baxter Poems and work.
 2.Next we write so words what we wanted to use  in our poem.
3.Then we wrote The beach ( or something like that) was usual enough.
4. Next you had to do a describing word that describing what you did when you where at that place.
5. Before the last describing you have to put and even then your last describing word.
6. Then you write my family (or my friends) and I then add what you did when you went to that place.
 7. Then at the end of your poem you write doing nothing important.

Boom Zoom Party Time!

Hi me again,

Last week I went to Auckland to go see P!nk we were so close. I went to my friends house when we arrived and had dinner there. I enjoyed the concert. My mum took me for a early birthday present. When I found out I screamed. At the concert I got a beanie that says Pink on it. When concert was over it was 11 o'clock I fell asleep on the way back to the hotel in Auckland.  Pink is my expiration.

For Chapter Chat we are reading a book about people in the olden days called Little House on the Prairie who come from North America and have to survive in the wild west. Our Chapter Chat activity this week we have to write a report about Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a tradition for North Americans.

Spooky Cottage

Hi today I will be writing a short story for you also known as a quick write.
We are given the sentence starter and we have to carry it on.

As I walked, I wondered where on Earth I was, it was starting to get dark but I was not scared because I had already walked around this part of the woods. Then I saw a cottage. I had heard bad rumors about this cottage but it was the only plan I had so I walked in. I started relaxing on the bed when I heard a voice. The voice said "I got you where I what you, now I 'm gonna eat you. I looked around and saw nothing but it was not that loud so I started relaxing again. Then I heard it again but louder. "I got you where I want you know I'm gonna eat you." So I got up and looked around but saw nothing so I started to relax again but again the noise came louder than before, "I got you where I want you, now I'm going to eat you." So I got up and looked around but saw nothing. I was about to leave when I lent on the stuffed toy wolf's head and a secret passageway opened up into a little room and in that little room was a little  stage behind the curtains was a.....
LITTLE MONKEY PICKING HIS NOSE AND HE SHOUTED I HAVE GOT YOU WHERE I WANT YOU NOW I AM GOING TO EAT YOU. Then it all made sense. He was talking about his booger and eating it, I feel silly.

Run NZ

Hi me again,
Our teachers Koka Ngaire and Matua Fergus have put together a running thing for our fitness which we do every day. What we do is we run around our field and count the laps that we do. Then we put a mark in our books and count the kilometers on our sheets of paper the we got and has all of the places in NZ. I have run 160 kilometers. I am doing route 4 which is whole of the north island and the top of the of the south island.

Salty Science

Hi Me again,

This my science fair.
It  is called Sweet But Salty. The reason I did this project is because I had always wanted to know which Gisborne beach is the saltiest and why. I chose three different beaches; Wainui, Town and Makorori. What beach do you think was the saltiest ?    

Vicious Vocabulary

This is mine and Adrianna's Chapter Chat activity. Chapter Chat is when our teacher reads a book and we have questions that we have to answer about the book. 2 term and 1 term we have been reading a book called The Explorer. The Explorer is about four kids the get lost in the jungle and find a city the famous explorers could not but four kids could.

Indominus Rex chase

This is a quick write.

 A quick write  is a sent starter that the teacher puts on the board like for example: 

Thump... Thump... Thump... My heart pounded inside my chest as I...

Then what we do is we carry on with the story like my one and that is what a quick write is.

Thump... Thump...Thump my heart pounded inside my chest as I ran for my life. The one and only Indominus Rex the smartest and deadliest dinosaur chasing me. I dived under a jurassic park vehicle. With my knife cutting the petrol pipe in the car.  Petrol splashed all over my body. Now the Indominus Rex would not what to eat me. Then I saw his mammoth eye staring at me. The bloodthirsty dinosaur with his mouth open. Teeth the size of my leg that that is all that I could think about at that moment. Then when I thought I  was a goner he smelt the petrol. Poked out his tongue and run away.

Hi, me again
This is my matariki art that I made.  We had to make it symmetrical. The outline of the matariki art must have 20 cubes and a 2 cube border. The stars must be at least 4 squares wide. Do you like it?

Pukeko's Experment

The Pukeko's reading group did an experiment about which plate would fizz the biggest. There was vinegar and baking powder which are both acid. There was also baking soda and water, neither of which have acid in. We did one that was baking soda and vinegar and there was just one more, baking powder and water. Which one do you think did the biggest fizz?

Kawa of Care

Hello me again,
On Friday Moana 2 was working on a thing called the Kawa of Care. Matua Fergus explained that Kawa of Care tells you that you do need to care about your computer. You do need to look after you computer so that you don't need to pay for a new one your parents will most likely to be the ones who pay for it if you drop it. When you walk around you should have the lid shut and both hands holding it so that if you do drop it the screen won't break. Make sure that you have clean hands before you touch your chromebook or other peoples.

Turbo Timetables

Hello me again
For the last couple of weeks I have been working on a time table. Each week on Sunday or Monday morning we have to fill in a time table for Monday to Thursday, Friday is a home room day. We get our workshop from an email that Koka Ngaire or Matua Fergus sends as and we can pick which workshops we want to go to, but we are supposed to pick one that you don't know or you don't understand so that they can help you. But after our workshops, we still have lots of room in our time table so we go to the leaning hub (The learning hub is a website that tells you what the options you have for the empty places in the timetable) to find our other options. These are called 'Links to Learning'. We have to do them  all at least once in the week

We know what workshops to go to, because we know our goals and levels.  We choose workshops that are going to help us if we are struggling with something or we haven't learnt it yet.  I like using the timetable because I get to choose what I want to do and when I want to do it.  Sometimes I don't always finish work - so I am working on being a self manager because sometimes I let my friends get in the way of my learning or I think about the exciting things I am doing after school!
